The rider moans once more, "You have been warned. Tonight, the sands of Runok know no future..."
He dissolves into the sand with the wind.
The Restful Dune is a humble place and at this hour isn't too busy. The bartender is cleaning out a series of mugs and a pair of maids maintain the simple chairs and tables.
The bartender, a chubby human with a thick jaw covered in a coarse black beard, but has a bit of muscle to him, says "Well met travelers, what can I do for you?"

((Please try to start the required posts per day soon, for those who have missed their cue)) [OOC]Sorry, been getting distracted by job-hunting, etc. Will be posting more often (hopefully).[/OOC] Behind the others sits a wolf of a rustic brown color, only marked with white around its neck and the tip of its tail. Its paws fade to a deep brown, and its eyes stare with a piercing, icy blue gaze as it sits stoically behind the others with its tail wrapped about its feet. Upon seeing the rider, its ears perk up, and as the wind stirs it lets out a low growl as its eyes intently watch the rider disappear. Looking up to the one cloaked in [insert Bard's cloak color here], it lets out a series of short barks before standing and shaking off the dust from its fur. Walking up to the guard, it sits for a moment and wraps its tail around its feet. Looking up at the guard, it cocks its head to one side, then makes a huff and stands. Pawing at the sand for a brief moment, it turns around and uses its back legs to spray sand at the guard's legs before turning to pass into the city. Following behind the iron-clad one, it wanders into the bar behind him. Hopping deftly onto one of the chairs, it sits there with its tail dangling off the back and wagging back and forth. It sniffs at the bar, then stares at the bartender and cocks its head to the side. [Background to come]

Shane will grab his gold pouch. "The strongest drink you have."

[ooc] same issue as gator, compounded by family issues. It's leaving me creatively tired, hence the lack of fanciful updates. I'm keeping in reading though [/ooc]
Same scenario, food and board. For the time being, settle into the corner of the nearest fireplace hearth, and playing ad lib, upon the bandora.

The bartender nods, "I don't see too many outlanders around here. Mallys is quite a bit from any city north of here, and you don't have Adran blood, nor Ildirin, I'd guess."
He prepares some wooden mugs and plates and continues, "It's been havoc here, a curse has befallen the Thraanish Sultan and all of his sons and daughters. They've been trying to keep it on the down-low, but all of them are... in a sleep."
He chuckles, "Serves them right, I pay enough tax on this place, they had it coming."

Look at the bartender with a wicked smile on is face. "You must hate that family. What else can you tell us?"

Arrival isn't easy for a dwarf in these hellish conditions. At least these southerners know how crew the brew. Listening to the barkeep's tale of the current situation and Shane's own questionable quip. He riffles through his belonging for his pouch for gold to cover his part of the tap.
Nodding to get the attention of the keeper, flashing [insert proper amount in cost equal choice]. "I'll take what the lad is taking, strongest ye got. And yes could ye elaborate as to the nature of their 'sleep'?"

The bartender fills up the mugs with a thick ale to all who hand over the two silver coins. He continues, "Well, they were all a bunch of pricks, but they kept the peace... all greedy bastards, every one of them. Apparently, before they fell asleep, some... rider came to warn them of their curse. He was spurned and turned to sand before their eyes."
He barks an order for more food from the kitchen and resumes the tale, "So, for the past three weeks they've all been in a sleep. The only person they've let in the castle is the caretaker of the Cathedral of Gariel. The creepy part of that story is... even though he hasn't been at the Cathedral the past few weeks, at night, when all of the deacons leave, you can hear a violin being played. Archbishop Shiam is the only one who has learned to play it... and he's stuck in the castle. Either he's got a nice pupil... or maybe he's not in the castle helping the Thraan family at all. Either way, it's 3000 gold to whoever can break the curse and the Cathedral could use repairs, he's doing his best, eh?"

"Thanks. I am going to check it out." Chug the drink and with a groan toss a gold piece to the bartender.
Head to the cathedral.

Nodding to get the attention of the keeper, flashing [insert proper amount in cost equal choice]. "I'll take what the lad is taking, strongest ye got. And yes could ye elaborate as to the nature of their 'sleep'?" The reddish-brown wolf hops off the stool it was on, then puts its paws on the dwarf's lap as it reaches its head up to sniff the drink. It dips its tongue in once, then recoils and hops down from its perch shaking its head all the while. Whining a bit, the wolf walks over towards the one playing the instrument and sits on the floor with its tail curled around itself. Cocking its head to one side, it sits there and appears to listen to the musical notes. It turns its head briefly as it watches the human exit the building, but then returns its gaze to the bard.

Begin to eat my food and enjoy my drink while listening to the tale.
"I will also be checking in"
Place the correct amount of money on the counter in front of him, then follow other people of the party that are heading to the cathedral or just wonder around town.
