Before the 'Pandem' (Selzvold called it the Pandemic Rift Effect, but ended up being shortened by other races) There was a Kellryia run by one Empire that lasted for longer than a Millennium. This campaign is the story of that Empire's final days.
The campaign starts in Stoneharbor in the Dalrissian province of Kellryia, near the Border Patrol Wall (a large stone wall meant to keep the orcs, ogres and goblins inside Kezek'Thar, better known as The Orc Badlands). The summer is waning and heavy layers of snow pad the ground as usual.
Stoneharbor is a small city with an abundance of fishermen, wainwrights, hunters and such. None of the frost-covered land can be farmed, though to the south the Adarian province boasts endless fields of grain. The Adarian province is more than ready to do trade with Stoneharbor, although the routes through Kellar's Gorge are treacherous, it is no less dangerous than the wild waters of Dragon Bay.
Stoneharbor has had an increasing amount of attacks on its patrols, sadly. Many patrols never return and scouting parties reveal that the bodies are horribly beaten and mutilated, but nothing looted. Concerned that these are more than mere brigands, Lord Haldane ordered a call to arms to the militia and some of the fishermen, hunters and blacksmiths created a small army in hopes that Stoneharbor would be saved.
Appealing to Dalendar City for help, Stoneharbor resorts to the use of militia and now, mercenaries. Offering a reward for eliminating the threat, or helping eliminate the threat, has drawn many adventurers to Stoneharbor.
The worsen the situation, Haldane's son who was away in Shallys, had not returned. Shallysian scouts reported that they left the forest unharmed but never arrived in Stoneharbor. Lord Haldane expects a ransom letter soon, and Captain Raenie Hall has increased patrols, guards and more scouting patrols as well as enforcing a curfew.
As Stoneharbor falls into turmoil a small band of heroes bring a spark of hope.
