Introduction[/size]
Rayanga is a world where people are divided by class and profession, not by race; racism doesn’t exist here. Over a billion years it took to create the world as it is today: A world of magic and faith. In each city the division is clear; each has their own section. By the way one dresses, one states which magic type they favor the most.
Magic is a part of every citizen’s life: Travel, luxury, lighting, protection, entertainment. It is not uncommon for an average person to have magic items. That is how common magic items are. Unseen Servants are used as maids, cooks, footmen, butlers. Teleportation circles are used as the metro transportation system. Magic Mouth greets customers at shops, inn, and taverns. Those with sleeping problems take Sleep potions. Those who wish to forget a painful time in their life can have Modify Memory done by a bard. If one has a bad habit of getting lost in one of the many metropolises, one can buy a token of Find the Path.
Magic - arcane, divine, and psionic – are equally popular throughout Rayanga and each group thinks they are using the ‘right’ one. Each city is segregated into type of magic. The arcanists, in their portion of the cities, have thousands of doors that lead to extra-dimensional buildings, in which only arcane spellcasters may enter. The divinists use morphed trees and blocks of stone to make their unique buildings. The psionicists make their buildings out of crystals and gems.
The humans, dwarves, halflings – with their lack of natural magic – turn towards the gods to grant them magical power. And the lidra – who have naturally divine magic – also serve Raynor for granting them that power. Therefore they favor clerics, paladins, rangers, and druids.
The elves – with their thirst of knowledge - gnomes – with their natural arcane power - and half-elves – with their ambition for knowledge - tend towards arcane. Therefore they favor bards, sorcerers, wizards.
The maenads, xephs, elans, and itens – being naturally psionic - tend towards psionic magic. Therefore they favor psions, psychic warriors, soulknives, wilders.
And there are those who choose not like magic. Then there are the people who approve of magic and just don’t have the capacity to use it themselves. Therefore, both of these groups of people favor non-magical classes such as barbarians, fighters, rogues, and monks. Otherwise, characters that have levels in these classes tend to multi-class with a magical class.
