Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 Edition
DM: Kiirnodel
Hosted: IRL, BGSU
Campaign Setting: Kellryia Campaign Setting
Starting Location:
- Continent: Auryiess
- Kingdom: Lexegos
- City: Staar
Description:
Staar, the capital of Lexegos, is the shattered remnant of the once vast empire of Auryiess. Torn apart by a racial war, many of the humanoids fled to Lexegos. This dry land is all that remains of the Maenad empire, most of which were killed when at war with the Dragons. The Orons, large ogre-like beasts but with brilliant psionic potential, claimed the south part of Auryiess and live in Razorvine Grotto and Brassmask Marsh.
Beyond this, the slave army of the goblins gained their freedom from the Orons and headed east. The goblin nation of Ciinar and Baanen were formed. Led by masterminds, the Blues, the goblins created the Krevase. The Krevase is a psychic device that links many of the goblin leader's minds together, allowing for amazing swift defenses and reinforcing. Hoblues (Hobgoblin blues) are rightfully feared for their resilience, willpower, brilliance and natural psionic ability, usually specializing in telekinetic powers, able to send an entire regiment of infantry flying with a single thought.
The Dragons used powerful slaves, as well, in the war, called Goliaths. However, as the dragons fought the powerful Maenads, their powers waned and the Goliaths turned against them. These powerful creatures now defend many Maenad nations such as Lexegos.
Silian, the empire of Thri-Kreen and Dromites, is by far the most unique. Burrowing into the mountains, the dromites create vast kingdoms beneath the sands, and the Thri-Kreen create villages in the forests above. Having depth and height, the Silian empire claims very little land, but has about as many cities as other larger countries.
The Xephs intermingle with many of the societies, namely because the entirety of the race almost exclusively avoided the War of the Crystal Spine, the central mountain range that caused the Maenads to lose power in Auryiess. Despite that, the Goliaths and Maenads still hold the Xephs as close friends.
Duergar still managed to hide from the dragons in their undeground cities, bartering with the races there to keep alive. The Drow and Deep Gnomes are still at odds, but use the Duergar from time to time as a way to regain supplies, mercenaries and other such goods.
The Sand gnomes control the northern region in Tinsilver, their capital. Holding the greatest telepaths in history, the gnomes usually win wars by simply making all of their foes no longer willing to fight. The Sand gnomes are somehow obsessed with shiny crystals. No one really knows why, except that they are ... really really pretty.
The Humans migrated years ago, just before a time they call 'The Reunion before Dying.' The Maenads welcomed them and the humans have very few outposts in Auryiess, but continue to grow.
