HD: 1d10
Skills: 2 + Int/level
Armored Arcana:
The spellsword is adept at wielding arcane power without letting armor hinder his ability to cast. While wearing shields (except Tower shields) and/or light armor, casting Spellsword spells grants no arcane spell failure.
Spellsword Talent:
Starting at 2nd level, and every 4 Spellsword levels thereafter, a Spellsword continues his training and learns a special ability from the list below. Certain abilities have level requirements, and all of them can only be taken once. The Spellsword Talent 'Bonus Feat' can be elected multiple times, however.
Bonus Feat - You have focused intently on your melee training and can take any fighter bonus feat as a bonus feat in place of a Spellsword Talent.
Improved Armored Arcana - You have learned to wear heavier armors and still maintain your ability to cast spells. Upon taking this talent you gain Armor Proficiency (Medium) and ignore arcane spell failure for Spellsword spells while in Medium or Light armor.
Channel Spell - You have become adept at casting on the fly and by using your weapon you can use it as a channel to strike your enemies. Channel Spell only works with melee touch or ranged touch spells and can only affect one target, regardless if the spell allows for multiple targets. As a swift action once per day, you can activate this ability to cast a spell that meets the above criteria on the target you hit earlier this round with a melee attack. You do not need to make a second touch attack, the spell automatically hits, but cannot critically hit. At level 7, you may use this ability twice per day, and at level 11 three times per day, at level 15 you may use it four times per day. This counts as a spell-like ability that does not provoke attacks of opportunity.
Spell Adept - You have focused on your arcane training and practice. You gain two additional spells learned, neither spell can be higher level than your highest spell you are able to cast when you take this talent and only one spell can be of your highest spell level.
Greater Armored Arcana - You have learned to wear heavier armors and still maintain your ability to cast spells. Upon taking this talent you gain Armor Proficiency (Heavy) and ignore arcane spell failure for Spellsword spells while wearing any form of armor. To take this talent you must already have Improved Armored Arcana and must have at least 6 levels in Spellsword.
Magic Sunder - A Spellsword with this talent can attempt to dispel magical effects on his enemies. Once per round as a swift action after striking an enemy with a melee attack, he may use this ability. This ability is a spell-like ability that does not provoke attacks of opportunity that functions exactly as a dispel magic spell cast as a 'focused dispel' on the enemy target hit. You can use this ability once per day, although at 11th level you may use it two times per day and at 15th level you may use it three times per day. You must have at least 6 levels in Spellsword to learn this talent.
Improved Channel Spell - When you use your channel spell ability, you can cast a spell of any level you know instead of only spells level 3 and lower. In addition, you can channel spell an additional time per day. You must have the Channel Spell talent to learn this talent and must have at least 10 levels in Spellsword.
Improved Magic Sunder - Your Magic Sunder ability now functions as a Greater Dispel Magic instead of Dispel Magic. In addition, you may use Magic Sunder an additional time per day. You must have the Magic Sunder talent to learn this talent and must have at least 10 levels in Spellsword.
Arcane Empowerment - You channel powerful arcane energy into your weapon and infuse it with might. As a free action once per round you may expend a prepared spell to gain a temporary boost to your combat abilities. If you do, you gain a bonus to attack rolls equal to the level of the spell expended and a bonus to damage rolls equal to twice this bonus. This added bonus lasts until you end your turn. If you wield a two-handed weapon, the bonus to damage rolls is equal to triple the spell expended, instead of double. You must have at least 10 levels in Spellsword to learn this talent.
Spontaneous Metamagic - You can empower your spells with metamagic with ease. Once per day, if you have a metamagic feat, you can spontaneously apply that feat to any spell you cast without increasing cast time or spell level. You must have at least 14 levels in Spellsword to learn this talent.
Improved Spell Storing - You are adept at concentrating spells into your weapon and can store an additional 4 levels of spells in your weapon. You must have at least 14 levels in Spellsword to learn this talent.
Spell Deflection (Once per day when you successfully save against a spell or spell-like ability, if you were the only target, you may send it back at its caster as a free action. Use the caster's attributes for determining Save DC and caster level) Requires level 18+
Combat Casting:
A Spellsword can cast spells under attack without much hassle. Any Spellsword level 3 or higher gains Combat Casting as a bonus feat.
Spell Storing:
Starting at 4th level a Spellsword may imbue his weapon with magic and store spell energy. This function works similarly to the scribe scroll feature in that the spell is stored for later use. A spellsword can scribe any level 2 or lower spell into his weapon, but doing so takes two hours. Doing so expends use of that spell for the day, but the power of the spell isn't expended when he prepares his spell again. The spell persists for as long as it is within close range of the Spellsword, and only the Spellsword that imbued that weapon can unleash the power inside. A spellsword can only have one spell stored in a weapon this way at a time and unleashing it is treated precisely as one would use a scroll.
Upon achieving 8th level, he improves his spell storing ability, able to store multiple spells in his blade. No more than four levels of spells can be stored in this manner and he can now store 3rd level spells in his weapon.
Upon achieving 12th level, it improves yet again, allowing six levels of spells to be stored in this manner and can store 4th level spells in his blade.
Upon achieving 16th level, he can store up to 8 levels of spells and he may also store 5th level spells in his blade.
